I have decided to switch to a new website for the blog I have been writing since October 2006 and which until now has been posted
here.
This is my fresh start, illustrated by the photo I took of the autumn leaves—Nature's Garland, as
Tom Thomson called them—hanging over the Rideau Falls.

Excellent photo! Until I read the text underneath, I thought it was a painting!
That's a bit anally-retentive, if you don't mind my saying so! (ie vetting incoming comments) Surely the whole point of the internet is that it's public; that's its strength and only occasionally its weakness. (Or have you been getting some unpleasant comments recently, that you've had to delete afterwards?)
... and yes, you can refuse this one and I won't be offended.
The advice was: "The ability to moderate comments as they are added to your blog can be very handy if you want to catch any comment spam before it reaches your page..." Well, we'll see what happens, and for the time being I have "disabled comment moderation" for you & people of like mind, Mel. (I assume you are not Faith! Or are you?)
Hi Ali
I am of the unmoderated persuasion - so far so good...comment spam isn't as rife as people think.
However, I have had a most attractive offer from the deposed finance minister of Burkina Faso.
Must close now as he urgently needs my bank account details and passwords in order to deposit £2m.

I must leap to my husband's defence; inflammatory comments were entirely mine, not his! I must be getting irascible in my old age!
