Celebrating the wedding

By a lucky fluke, through a temporary breach in the "Great Firewall of China," I managed to use blogger.com to download an account of the traditional Chinese Wedding celebrations for our son and his wife while we were still in Beijing: click here, and you can read it.

May 15th, Sunday

I append a few more pictures below that record the marvellously colourful experience and the happiness of that day.

Xiao Peng, George and his father at the hotel, ready to set off

The organiser of our motorcade and a Beijing traffic warden!

Firecrackers announce our arrival at the venue ...

... and dancing "lions" greet the wedding party

Inside the restaurant complex, walking towards the banquet hall

After the ceremony

George and Sha at our table, Sha in her third dress of the day

Sha's parents, Mr Du pouring himself a well earned glass of beer

Chris, with two of the children and another guest at the end of the party
